Thom Kaz, a veteran, and local Mobilian joined us here on Studio10 to tell us about what got him into music, talk about some important people who influenced his journey, and also how he is working to support veterans.
The Mobile Symphony Orchestra Music Director Scott Speck joined us to talk about the Symphony’s 25th Anniversary season opener. Scheherazade is an action-packed concert spotlighting the impressive skills and talents of the Gulf Coast’s premier orchestra, Saturday, Sept. 24, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 25, at 2:30 p.m., at Mobile’s historic Saenger Theatre.
Joseph began playing music in 1999 and you can blame Metallica for that. At first and for many years, he played lead electric-guitar in various metal/rock bands in underground venues around the area - most of his time was spent in a band called “A Bridge to Burn”. Somewhere along the way, his mom bought him his first acoustic guitar and he started to sing and do more independent songwriting which eventually led him to a music scholarship, playing in worship bands, and performing cover sets in local restaurants around town.
The Studio10 crew was invited to listen to a live performance by Tiera Kennedy at iHeartRadio 95KSJ. She performed several songs including her new single “Found it in you”. Click on the link to see this up and coming superstar.
The Justin Howard Band joined us on our Pepsi SoundStage for a great performance. The Justin Howard Band combines southern heritage, folk influences, and contemporary alternative sounds for a fantastic listening experience.
Eric Erdman joined Joe and Chelsey on Studio10 to perform live. He is hosting an album release party on May 27 at Joe Jefferson Playhouse (11 S Carlen St Mobile , Alabama). A full band of musicians will be there with Eric’s favorite singer/songwriter, Ross Newell, performing as well.
